Welcome to Thurøbund

The site is located at the bay called Thurøbund, which is a narrow bay (about 2000 x 500 meters) off Svendborg Sound. The bay is a sheltered area ideally suited for sailing and canoeing activities for inexperienced persons.

The site itself covers some 49.000 m². Most of the area is relatively flat and used as camp site. To the north, the site slopes down to the bay with a fine view over the bay.

The buildings  were built in 1993. There are three buildings, of which two (buildings A and B, totalling some 250 m²) are let out. The third building is used by the Thurøbund Scouting Center  (Thurøbund Spejdercenter) which offers sailing activities and summer camps on the site.

The site and buildings are owned by the Danish Scout and Guides Association (DDS) and are run by a committee under DDS. The committee consists of voluntary non-paid persons wanting to further to scouting idea and providing a site and ldings suited for scouting activities.
